This fine vessel from the shipbuilders in Leith was another order from the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand.
The motor vessel KOONYA was a single screw diesel cargo ship of 1946 tons, with a length B.P. of 235 feet with a beam of 45 feet.
She was launched from the shipyard on 16th of October 1957.
